Termside 0.9.0
Released September 24, 2026
Termside 0.9.0 makes agent conversations easier to recognise and reopen, restores workspace windows and tabs, adds search to Settings, and lets you choose how selected text is copied.
Chat names in your sidebar
Termside can use conversation names from Claude, Codex, and OpenCode as session names. Automatic chat names are enabled by default. Names you set yourself stay yours, and an existing preference to turn automatic naming off is respected.
Choose Use Agent Chat Name from a session’s context menu to return to automatic naming. Conversations without a name keep a neutral session label.
Return to the right conversation
Codex and OpenCode track the conversation shown in each pane, extending the conversation tracking already available for Claude. Starting, clearing, resuming, or switching conversations updates the saved session, so reopening Termside can return to the conversation you were using.
Multiple agent panes in the same project keep their conversations separate. When no conversation has been identified, Termside starts fresh with a notice instead of choosing another recent chat.
If Codex cannot reopen a saved conversation—including an unused session that Codex never saved—the pane stays open. Choose another conversation, start fresh, retry, or close it.
Workspaces that reopen where you left them
- Workspace windows and tab groups restore when you reopen Termside.
- Choose whether workspaces open in tabs or separate windows in Settings. The tab bar’s + button opens a new workspace tab.
- Window titles show the workspace name, and workspace tabs show an attention dot when a background session needs your attention.
- Returning to a workspace window clears the focused terminal’s attention dot.
- Termside opens a workspace window when there are no windows to restore.
Find settings faster
Search in Settings to find an option or agent configuration, then select a result to jump to its location.
Choose how you copy
Find Copy selected text automatically in Settings → Terminal → Clipboard, or search Settings for “copy” or “clipboard”.
Automatic copying is enabled by default for new and existing users. Turn it off to select text without replacing your clipboard, then press ⌘C when you want to copy. Your choice is remembered and applies immediately to open terminal and agent sessions, with no restart needed.
For beta testers, this release includes the fix for automatic copying that stopped working in beta 2.
Background updates that keep up
- Codex conversation names update in the sidebar while you work in another tab or application.
- Background Codex sessions show their completion attention dot without needing to be selected first.
- Background terminal events are processed in short batches after output arrives, with no extra idle polling or hidden-terminal redraws.
- Claude chat names refresh in response to file changes, with no transcript reads for naming while automatic names are turned off.
- Codex reuses conversation lookups and skips redundant title updates. OpenCode follows the active conversation using lightweight local state checks.
Your sound and notification preferences continue to apply to background completion events.
Keep going after Codex updates
When Codex successfully updates itself at startup, Termside reopens it automatically. If you were resuming a saved conversation, it retries that same conversation.
Other improvements
Agent icons remain visible in the new-session menu on newer macOS versions.
Agent integrations
Conversation tracking and chat names depend on the agent’s integration being enabled. Custom agents do not gain automatic conversation tracking or chat names in this release.
Upgrading from a beta
This stable release includes all improvements from the 0.9.0 betas. It is available to both stable and beta update channels. Your saved preferences, including an explicit choice to turn automatic copying off, are preserved.
